In memoriam...
Roberto Carlos Figueroa
1984 - 2024
Roberto Carlos Figueroa was murdered after being kidnapped in Morelos. Here’s a look at who the journalist and producer was.

According to local media, the journalist was known for his critical stance on the state administration, led until March 2024 by Cuauhtémoc Blanco.

On social media, he was known as Huictin or as a character called Puercomandante, and, according to friends who shared their condolences upon learning of his death, he was a highly professional individual with an edgy and irreverent personality.

The victim’s body was found on a dirt road after an anonymous tip. According to authorities, the journalist’s wife received several calls demanding a ransom.

Despite gathering the money and leaving it where the kidnappers specified, Roberto Carlos was not released. His body was found in his vehicle in the town of Coajomulco, Huitzilac.

n response to these events, the state government issued a statement condemning the kidnapping and murder of the journalist, demanding that the Morelos Attorney General’s Office find those responsible.

So far, no additional information is available regarding these events or the operation to capture those responsible for the homicide.
